If I had planned this out better they would have actually all fit together better, but I didn't plan these out at all. Actually, I never meant for them to be more than fancied up sketches. But I don't end up finishing series of pictures like... ever, so I'm actually pretty proud of myself for this. 'Specially considering how friggin' busy the last few weeks of my life have been.

And now I'm going to say a little about each one.

I pretty much drew each one as possibly a cosplay design, or fashion shot, not necessarily how I think each pony would look like as a human. More like how I'd style a girl inspired by each pony. Cause I'm totally into that shit. I also worked in a color for each of their outfits that isn't normally used in their character designs, but still works (except Rarity.)

Twilight - Honestly, she's my least favorite character. Not to say that I don't like her, because I do, but if I had to rank them, she's not my favorite. Still, I wanted to draw her as a school girl, and that made me want to draw her as a kogyaru. And then, for some dumb reason, I drew that big book in front of her and it totally doesn't even look right. But oh well, it's just Twilight. And I always picture her as Filipino or Indian. I don't know if I got that across here because I ended up making her skin to light.

Rarity - Dayum. While searching for inspiration for her design I found my old Ageha magazines and totally wanted to draw up a Rarity in the style of hime-gyaru evening wear, Hostess style! I'm particularly happy with how she turned out. I know I made both her and Twilight very thin (some people commented on that like it was a bad thing) but in my mind, they would be. Unicorns are supposed to be weaker, physically, than the other ponies. I imagine them both very petite, almost to an extreme because, hey, every body type is just fine if that's the way you were made. In Rarity's case, I imagine her a little too thin and short, which is why she went to the tall, graceful Fluttershy to model her clothes.

Rainbow - I don't really care for Rainbow's personality (sorry), but I love love love her character design. I friggin' love rainbows. Anyway, her clothes look like a mix between sporty and pajamas. I figure that would be best for a girl who's either training or napping on clouds. And I normally wouldn't give Rainbow Skrillex hair but I've been wanting to do it forever. Also, she's Brazilian.

Fluttershy - I love Fluttershy. She's just so sweet and cute and I see myself in her a lot of the time. I tried to give her a boho hippy feel but ended up giving her an obi type of thing so... I don't know what that is. But I like it so I'm sticking with it. I'd usually like to make her taller, but I didn't plan this very well. I picture her as tall, lanky, awkwardly graceful. Pretty much just like Allison Harvard [link] . And I had to give both the pegasi wings because I just plain like drawing wings. No other reason.

Pinkie - I drew her first, so she ended up looking quite different from the other girls. Still, I love how her hair came out so much I don't even care. Actually, I just need to give her legs... Ah well. For another time. I wanted her outfit to look like she just put on whatever clothing caught her eye and it somehow all kinda matches. And there's a tutu involved. And luscious, cotton candy hair. I usually like to draw her chubbier, but that just didn't happen here. In fact, I think she looks a little too thin here. Oh well.

Applejack - I normally don't like the whole southern look, and I definitely didn't want to put her in something too skimpy. This is more like AJ date/hoedown wear. I'm not too fond of the color of her top, but I can live with it. Kinda adds balance to Twilight's book. And I tried to make her look a little more buff but... the proportions were off from the get go and I didn't even notice until I scanned it in. Again, poor planning. Apples.

Now to go back to cake making!
